Mayor's Office Team

Michelle Beveridge
Chief of Staff

Michelle was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo to an adventurous Filipina mom and a Saskatchewan-born dad. She shares their love for traveling, lifelong learning, and community engagement. They got her volunteering in political campaigns at an early age, which has turned into jobs as a political campaign consultant at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels, including as Mayor Clark’s campaign manager in both his councillor and mayoral elections.

A journalist by trade in both broadcast and print media, she has worked as a communications consultant for a variety of organizations. She also worked over a decade for an international development organization as both a campaign coordinator and a policy specialist in international trade and agriculture.

She has a Masters degree from the University of Saskatchewan, a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Regina, and a Bachelor of Arts Honours from Queen’s University.

She likes to sit outside in the sun, with coffee or wine, and be entertained by the antics of her two kids and husband.

Jay Okrainetz, Communications and Policy Advisor

Jay was born and mainly raised in Saskatoon with stops in England and Edmonton along the way. Since Graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, he has since worked across the country, primarily based in Saskatchewan. Jay joined the Mayor’s Office in late 2020 and helps to support communications and policy development. In his downtime he enjoys coaching hockey, playing music, making food, travelling, and playing with dogs.

Shelley Burke is the Mayor’s Executive Assistant.
